London again

                OOoohhh!!! It's finally hit me!!!

Leaving for London

So I've been doing a bit of research on trusty google about swelling on planes. My feet and ankles swell heaps unfortunately and they generally take a day or two to go back down.

Since I'm in London for 10 days max I need a quick fix to hit the ground running, minus the bloat monster.

I searched high and low on long haul flight beauty tactics but there was really only a lot of "drink a tank of water and make sure you keep moving" advice which is of course correct. But not entirely genius.

THEN, it occurred to me - how the hell do the hosties do all these long haul flights while maintaining their annoyingly fresh demeanour sans kankles?

The answer friends: COMPRESSION HOSE. That's right! They apply the pressure so that my feet stay their narrow dainty selves the whole while!

It may be old news to some but for me this has been a break through! Let's see how they go on the 23 hour journey I begin tonight...

PS. They are black and look exactly like every other opaque tights. Stylin too. YES

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

This is a belated HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY DARLING to my gorgeous little nephew Stickbaby!

Your mum and I had many adventures with you growing in her belly. You are one well travelled little guy and if you have anything like the amazing positivity, generosity and kindness your pairies have you will be one wonderful Stickster.

I can't wait to see you on the weekend!

Weakness Wednesday

One of my greatest weaknesses (yes I do have a few, I'm human) is M&Ms.

Flattie had a family pack of M&Ms in the fridge the other day (I know, M&Ms do NOT live in the fridge) and I sneakily took a handful. Or five. I couldn't stop! Dang!

When I was living in NYC I would polish off a pack a day. And I lost weight (which had nothing to do with the fact that I was doing 18 hour pillar to post days and only eating a narni).

There is something about the crunchie goodness, the chocolate and shell combo that makes them so ridiculously enjoyable. They are my archilles heel.

If there was only one packet of M&Ms left in the world with no more ever being produced EVER for some ungodly reason, I would pledge my first born child for that packet. That is to say if the possessor was interested in my first born child. They may want some form of monetary compensation, or perhaps a time machine or something rad like that. But either way, I would give anything for it.

That's how much I love M&Ms.
This is an important message from a beautiful and courageous woman.

EW

This is GRIM.
She is one truly sick wench.

Sickie

I had the day off yesterday and boy was it needed.

1. I lay on the couch for hours

2. I watched the Today show till the end, then the Kerry-Ann show, then the Ellen show and loved every trashy moment

3. I had a 45 minute sauna and sugar scrub

4. Massive Facebook session

5. Met a friend for coffees in the afternoon

6. Golf lesson in the evening.

Amazing, rejuvenating day. There is something wonderful about taking a week day off while everyone else is on the grind. I felt the smugness creep upon me only a little.

I relished those hours by myself.

London Calling

You guys, I'm holidaying in London from 25th September!

It was all very sudden but now that it's booked, and two weeks away, I'm BESIDE myself.

As a result, I've been planning up a storm. I only have 10 days with which to shop, eat, drink, party and clay pigeon shoot, with my gorgeous London posse. Suffice it to say, it will be a whirlwind tour!

I think I might be heading here, and here, and most definitely here

This was my fave place to go. Oooh and so was this

And let's not forget the must visits:
Harvey Nics, Selfridges, Harrods, Kings Road, Oxy Street, Bond Street, and my all time fave Liberty which I have a loyalty card for that sits in my wallet all forlorn and wanting desperately to be used.

I feel like I'm going home...

Massive Crush Monday

It's no secret. I have a massive crush on Barak Obama. I tell anyone who will listen.

He's got it.

Opera Picnic

Saturday was superb.

I went for a super athlete walk in the morning and soaked up the sunshine and Brisbane Spring time glory.

On the homeward journey I found $50 on the ground and with no one in sight I took this as an omen, a gift for loving the universe right back.

I subsequently spent $48 at the French van at the Powerhouse farmer's markets on Roquefort, pate, bread sticks, fresh strawbs and lilies.

All this was quite fortunate because that evening I was going to "Opera Under the Stars" - the Marriage of Figaro and I needed to take a picnic dinner. Perfect!

BTW, Brisbane is in the throws of the Brisbane Festival right now meaning that the whole city is full to the brim with amazing arts and culture. It's really quite phenomenal and I'm very impressed with my little city!

Powderfinger!

Yesssss - You guys I just scored tickets to Powderfinger's last ever concert - ever!!

BOOM!

They called him Rad for short.
