London Calling

You guys, I'm holidaying in London from 25th September!

It was all very sudden but now that it's booked, and two weeks away, I'm BESIDE myself.

As a result, I've been planning up a storm. I only have 10 days with which to shop, eat, drink, party and clay pigeon shoot, with my gorgeous London posse. Suffice it to say, it will be a whirlwind tour!

I think I might be heading here, and here, and most definitely here

This was my fave place to go. Oooh and so was this

And let's not forget the must visits:
Harvey Nics, Selfridges, Harrods, Kings Road, Oxy Street, Bond Street, and my all time fave Liberty which I have a loyalty card for that sits in my wallet all forlorn and wanting desperately to be used.

I feel like I'm going home...

Things I hate: WARNING I'm in a bad mood

I CANNOT STAND cabs in this city. Every one of them stinks and after being in a feral hire car for three days (obviously the last hirer was smoking like a chimney and hadn't showered for a week) I am truly OVER smelly cabbies.

Furthermore, why should I have to negotiate my way home? Surely Brisbane isn't that hard to navigate if your previous city was a maze of shanty town madness? And surely if you've managed to get your sorry arse here by canoe or elephant or foot or whatever, and get yourself a job driving a cab you can sure as hell learn English!!! Did I ask for a tour of Brisbane? NO! I wanted what is usually a 20min drive from airport to Alderley. FUCK

You guys, the cabbie sitcho in Brissie is disastrous.

Screw this - I'm getting a private car and driver next time. At least I'll be able to breathe.

Little London

Today reminds me so much of London days. It's misty and rainy and cold and cosy inside.

This is the Little London view from my office. Check out the "Mini Eye"

A Weekend in Melbourne Edition #1

I've been deliberating for a while now as to a mini Aussie vacay down south and finally today I cashed in my Qantas frequent flyer points (24000 of them) and have booked a gorgeous weekend down in Melbourne for sheer pleasure and indulgence - for want of a better expression - I'm loving myself.

I just need to get out of where I am for a bit - to gain that amazing perspective you always get when you travel. I have a few meetings on Friday for work(ish) and after that I'm free as a bird.

But why Melbourne you ask? Honestly I wouldn't mind living there sometime in the future and the last time I was there I was a crazed early 20-something with a golden afro (thanks Bubble) getting drunk in the green room of the Crown with INXS (minus the glorious Michael H though)....

It's funny I don't really know many people in Melbs so I've had to scrounge up the few peops I do know to sort of rekindle the friendship flame. People, I need the inside scoop on the following:

  • where to go

  • what to do, where to eat

  • where to shop, where to say

  • where to be seen

  • where to relax

  • the best chai latte

  • the best facial

  • bike hire

  • markets etc etc.

So far I've found this hotel to bunk in - it seems to be great value but then, photos are nortoriously deceptive!

Help and advice is greatly appreciated from any Melbournian gurus....

Oh and also, let me know if you want to hang out! I promise you a feature article in my blog...weeeeeeee!!
