People this is a formal apology for my MIA status these last weeks (months?).
Life has ramped up quite considerably and I can now confirm I have won the trifector:
1) new apartment;
2) new man;
3) new job (well, promotion...).
It's hard to believe there was a time in my life where I would sit idle for hours, pondering what to do with my time.
Web surfing.
Painting my nails.
Watching tv.
Sometimes a little bored.
Sometimes a little lonely.
Consider this my COMPLETE 180.
On the eve of my 29th birthday I'm finding my schedule packed full of events, people, sugar soaping walls, searching for bargain furniture on ebay, three day long dates with the man, trips to site, negotiations for a new job and not a spare moment to take a breath.
Wouldn't have it any other way.

EVEN MORE FLOOD PICS
Again I ventured out into the affected suburbs (my suburbs) today and even though it was a lower tide the water levels were nevertheless significantly higher than the day before. Granted, I didn't see it at it's peak, but there is so much debrit and crusted dirt marks where the water had been in the early hours of this morning.
The river is moving so fast, it's like a great beast, tearing pontoons, boats, restaurants, anything in its path and sending them on a river tour of Brisbane before spitting them out to the ocean.

FLOOD RISING
I took these snaps at 11am this morning...
Brunswick Street outside Myrther Village (Coles)
Sandbags outside the Waterloo Hotel, Fortitude Valley (Commercial Road)
Entrance to the River Walk and my mate's place
Looking across to Bulimba park
The River Walk - ruined
End of Myrther Road, the crowds begin to gather to watch the swell
Sandbagging furiously to beat the water - Mizu in Teneriffe (my fave Japanese place incidentally)
Broken pontoon in front of Teneriffe
Residents in level 1 of my building in Teneriffe (Saratoga South) salvaging personal effects out of the window
Trucks and 4x4s everywhere, loaded with sandbags |
Myrther Park near outside Myrther Bowls
The scary thing is, the worst is yet to come. The peak has been revised at reaching 5.2mts in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

First Day Back
First day back at work today after 10 glorious holiday days.
I've managed to be quite productive, turning over many new leaves.
And also finding this delicious site: http://www.hanker.com
What, I was trying to find a new diary ok?
